Nalin Sarkar Street - The Master at Work - Winner of 2010 Asian Paints Artisan of the year

Worshipping the DIVINE MA DURGA is a grand event through out the city, with celebrations and jubilations differing from each other. The city of joy enlivens during these four wonderful days of Durgotsav. Needless to say that ‘Sharat kal’ brings a wisp of brightness in the air to welcome the arrival of Ma Durga.

Nalin Sarkar Street Sarbojanin Durgotsab will be rejoicing its 78th year in an impressive way. The puja seems to be quite old, but the most striking part is, it has started receiving recognition to the crowd since last eight years.  It was a great honor to the puja committee to receive acknowledgment from different organizations like Asian Paints, Rupa, S.F.Sonic, Sreeleathers, and Pratidin. The biggest achievement was achieving recognition from Tara Bangla. Every year the expected footfall is more than 40 lakhs.

Secretary, Mr. Sanjay Saha has thought of creating magic this year. Will there be any kind of ‘ABRA-KA-DABRA’ this time? It is heard that Nalin Sarkar Street Sarbojanin Durgotsab couldn’t do much in 2008 and 2009, so this year they will be casting a spell. They promise to make people amazed with a magician’s outstanding creation and excellent innovation.  The magician is none other than Shri.Sanatan Dinda, who will be taking care of designing the Pandal, Pratima, Theme music, Light direction and overall execution.  It seems the mastermind himself will be playing the role of ‘Dashabhuja’.  So, keep your eye on the ball.

Route Guide:  To reach the mandap, you need to come to Hatibagan or Khanna crossing. You will see the pandal located between Grey Street and Nalin Sarkar Street.
